WHAT TO WEAR FOR BRIDAL BOUDOIR: THE LINGERIE BLUES
It's bridal season. That means that like beautiful birds returning for the summer, flocks of brides make their journey to Red Bank, New Jersey to the Life As Fine Art studio. There, they experience the ultimate day of pampering and fun by the one of the top bridal boudoir photographers in the country, Cate Scaglione.
"I think what draws brides to us here at the Life As Fine Art studio goes beyond NYC and New Jersey brides just wanting sexy pictures to give as a groom's gift," says owner and photographer Cate Scaglione, "I think it's also about the fashion-inspired styling, a sense of escape we offer them here, and it's now a part of the wedding experience that is uniquely theirs."
"Styling a bridal boudoir session is a lot like other boudoir photo shoots," says Cate, "It is about seduction and intimacy, but in this case I like to recommend one wardrobe selection that will be reminiscent of her bridal undergarments. I think it gives her groom or partner a hint of the wedding night in a very intimate, artistic way."
OMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE...
What was once an Old English rhyme, actually represented four objects a bride was supposed to carry for good luck charms on the wedding day. In times of betrothals -- arranged marriages and familial alliances, these were were practical 'good luck' superstitions.
But today, finding that all important 'something blue' has become a source of stress for some brides, according to TheKnot.com.
Why not go for a more intimate approach to the blues?
"Blue stands for purity, love, and fidelity. So, I simply love it when a bride brings a hint of stylish blue to her boudoir photo experience," says Cate, "We take that old Elizabethan tradition and make it something way more sentimental... boudoir offers a form of modern intimacy. We can create something that's just between them."
